Summary

Two geniuses。 Two brains。 Two hearts。 One battle。 Who will confess their love first…?!

Will Kaguya tell her family or even her friends that she’s dating Miyuki? Why is Chika pretending to be everyone’s girlfriend while dressed in a bald wig? Hapless Yu gets romantic advice from recently dumped Kazeno, which he passes on to naive Miyuki。 Then, semi-repressed Nagisa attempts to school repressed Kaguya。 And Kaguya shares (usually sensible) Ai’s theories about men with Maki, who attempts to verify them with flustered Miyuki and Yu。 Basically, Shuchiin Academy suffers from a bad case of the blind leading the blind。

You can’t learn about sex from porn。

This volume mostly covers a few chapters of the start of the new semester and more chapters of what happened during the winter break。

I thought this volume was good volume。 I liked that we got some background and development for characters we haven't seen before。 There were some things about this volume I'm not sure how to feel about though。 I thought this volume was good volume。 I liked that we got some background and development for characters we haven't seen before。 There were some things about this volume I'm not sure how to feel about though。 。。。more

This volume marks a new shift in the story。 I am assuming the person reading this has already read the previous volumes, so what I am about to say is fine。 We reach a new shift because Kaguya and Shirogane are now dating, Ishigami has his eyes set on making Tsubame confess, and Iino’s moral compass is beginning to skew。 All of these developments are such a different change of pace, but it’s still good! If you do not know: This series follows the members of the student council at an elite school。 This volume marks a new shift in the story。 I am assuming the person reading this has already read the previous volumes, so what I am about to say is fine。 We reach a new shift because Kaguya and Shirogane are now dating, Ishigami has his eyes set on making Tsubame confess, and Iino’s moral compass is beginning to skew。 All of these developments are such a different change of pace, but it’s still good! If you do not know: This series follows the members of the student council at an elite school。 President Shirogane and Vice-President Kaguya like one another, but neither want to be the one to confess their love first。 So, the battle of the brains begins as they try to make the other person confess。 Very funny, cute, and at times, moving。 I feel like I don’t have much to say about this volume。 It feels like the chapters here are laying down the foundation for future developments and story arcs。 However, I will say that I loved the chapters with Maki and Kaguya because Maki is my cinnamon bun child。 Also, the very last chapter with the board game club is peak comedy。 Such a fun time。 Overall, gave this volume 3。9, but rounding up to 4 stars! 。。。more

A whole bunch on stuff happens, but without a narrative throughline, are the day to day antics of the school enough to make a fulfilling volume? Let’s get (sex) educated with the latest Kaguya-sama!So, spoiler, the answer is no。 There is a lot of delicious gristle in this volume, but there isn’t much of anything by way of meat。 Combined with stuff that doesn’t work and you have a very uneven volume。I think the strongest chapter is the one where Yu finds fitness and leans into every awful habit o A whole bunch on stuff happens, but without a narrative throughline, are the day to day antics of the school enough to make a fulfilling volume? Omg, the board game chapter ALONE is worth five stars! I actually had to stop reading to catch my breath from laughing so hard。 This series never ceases to make me laugh until I'm crying and I cannot be more grateful for that。While I have qualms about Nagisa giving Kaguya a porn DVD to watch and calling it "sex education," considering that's something a normal teenager would do AND it's proven that the students at this school tend to be a wee bit。。。sheltered, I'm willing to let that slide。 Also, Omg, the board game chapter ALONE is worth five stars! I really hope they can overcome these hurdles and live happily in the end。 Just let my babies be happy, dammit! That's all I've got without writing a five page essay about what I loved about this volume。 Sad I have to wait so long for the next volume, but I will stay strong! All for my dysfunctional babies! 。。。more

Moving on from their eventful winter breaks, now Kaguya and Miyuki are back in the Student Council but they are keeping their relationship on the down low。 Kaguya manages to brag about it, though, using Chika's penchant for pranks and games。 Hayasaka is a bit tired of her bragging, though, so Kaguya turns to Kashiwagi for some advice and finds out that maybe hers and Miyuki's relationship didn't follow the typical route (but who cares if they kissed first etc?)。 But my favorite chapters were the Moving on from their eventful winter breaks, now Kaguya and Miyuki are back in the Student Council but they are keeping their relationship on the down low。 Kaguya manages to brag about it, though, using Chika's penchant for pranks and games。 Hayasaka is a bit tired of her bragging, though, so Kaguya turns to Kashiwagi for some advice and finds out that maybe hers and Miyuki's relationship didn't follow the typical route (but who cares if they kissed first etc?)。 But my favorite chapters were the ones about interactions between Miyuki and Ino (who finally find something they have in common, but Miyuki blows it by not being THAT into poetry) and Kaguya and Maki (we got to know about their family ties, the reasons for the animosity between them and a hilarious incident of them getting some sex ed lol)。 Received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review from Viz Media LLC, via Edelweiss。 。。。more
